Our journey with FermPlus™ gluten/casein/nut free probiotic began with the original formula Prime Directive™ in Scotland during our travels there in 2000, a land that holds a piece of our hearts, the place we were wed. At that time we were in the UK as co-hosts (Bruce as Director of the Global Academy Genome Institute) for a spiritual-scientific conference on the physical, social, ethical and spiritual implications of genetic engineering. One of our friends there, a chiropractor, overwhelmed us with her excitement and enthusiasm about this probiotic food and its effects on her patients, even manifesting observable changes in their live blood microscopy (video). We were all ears. And what did we have to lose? So we began to eat this marvelous living food, and to experience first-hand the physical benefits that result from symbiotic balance with our gut bacteria. What learning for us to see just how much these "friendly" microflora do the real work in our digestion so that we may "flourish" and have abundant health. Three years later, after bringing it into this country for ourselves and Marianne’s clients it became a mainstay in our diet. We feel it is what gives us the physical sustenance and energy to enjoy a very busy life as we travel and teach throughout the world.

Living Foods USA thus came into existence in 2004 as a part of the natural movement in our spiritual-scientific journey that is centered on promoting, inspiring, and empowering the spiritual evolution of humanity as it seeks its full potential. And a couple years later we saw the need for the gluten/nut free version of Prime Directive™ thus named, FermPlus™ for all those with gluten intolerance and celiac disease, as well as, raw foodists that choose to stay away from gluten bearing grains. We found a way to make Prime Directive™ even more fulfilling for all. We see this living food matrix of FermPlus™ as a blessing from Spirit working in Nature to help bring our bio-systems back into harmony with the greater dynamic milieu of which we are a part. The multi-dimensional nature of this milieu presents itself to us in the form of interpenetrating realms of life where the subtle and material may intersect. It is at the nexus of the spiritual and the material that we can see the fruitful interface of higher consciousness with that which needs to be awakened in our human biological nature. We believe FermPlus™ is a remarkably unique gift for re-harmonizing our multi-faceted nature. How marvelous to see and feel God's intelligence at work in these very intelligent bacteria that fulfill their purpose while helping us fulfill ours. For this reason we understand this food to be a conscious evolving living matrix, one that is truly "Conscious Food for Conscious Beings."

It is natural to ask what talents, gifts, and knowledge we bring to Living Foods that might qualify us for the task of bringing this gift to the American market. Together we have many years in complementary and alternative medicine (CAM): Marianne, a practitioner since 1991 in Acupressure Massage Therapy, Jin Shin Jyutsu, and Inner Relationship Focusing, counselor and instructor, (www.innerrelationship.com/teachers/
curtis.html) and Bruce teaching on spirituality, consciousness sciences, and the future of medicine since 1979. This diverse background in the healing arts, spiritual teaching, and active participation in the many communities of discourse engaging the Science and Spirituality dialogue, enables us to bring unique insights and understanding of the importance of uniting scientific rigor with spiritual insight. This interface was further developed over 20 years serving as the editorial office for the prestigious peer-reviewed Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine: Research on Practice, Paradigm and Policy (JACM). In that capacity, with Marianne as Managing Editor and Bruce as Associate Editor, we became acquainted with many of the brightest minds in research and practice in CAM. Further, we were able to explore the forefront of much new research, including nutritional studies. This helped us develop a rigorous approach to science and sharpened our ability to evaluate health claims, including stated benefits of various products. Our work culminated in a pioneering edition of JACM on "Energy Medicine" published 2004, in which Bruce also presented an article entitled Consciousness and Quantum Information Processing: Uncovering the Foundation for a Medicine of Light (go to Liebertpub.com/acm — Vol. 10/1, Feb. 2004). It is this discerning eye and heart that we bring to Living Foods USA.

We are grateful for the opportunity to bring you products sourced from organic foods, that are the closest to Nature and the way God designed us to heal and regenerate. We observed the research on our Living Foods Matrix™ Re-Natured® vitamins and minerals in those days with JACM and now we are proud to make them available to you.
